Monuments
Grand Hyatt Washington Monument White House Capitol
Since I worked in Atlanta, I took a weekend trip to DC. Hyatt booked me into the grand suite (Room 946) with Jacuzzi tub. Bonus: modeling contest in the hotel!! DC is basically a collection of various monuments and memorials. This is the Washington monument. Tickets sell out at 8:45am in the morning, too bad. The White House (duh!). The Capitol (duh!).

The Library of Congress holds some 28 million items. The stacks are closed, but books can be requested in the reading room.

Museums
X-15 National Gallery of Art Rothko Roy Lichtenstein
The Air and Space Museum has all sorts of flying things, including this X-15. This rocket plane goes 4500 mph. The National Gallery of Art had a special exhibit on Goya. The East bui;ding has contemp art, including a few Rothko's. Outdoor sculpture by Roy Lichtenstein. The hous is an optical illusion: the 'near' corner is actually furthest away.
