Japan November 3 - 13, 2002 |
I took over 1000 pictures! It will take me a while to sort them all out. Here a small sample. Eri-san, myself, Chie-san and Doi-san in Asakusa, in front of the Asahi Super Dry Hall -- designed by Phillipe Starck. | We took the construction elevator to touch the flame... a pretty nice looking construction crew! |
Information overload in Shinjuku. | Tsukiji fish market. I got up at 5:30 am and I think I still missed most of the action. 80% of all fish eaten in Tokyo is sold here. |
Torii gate near Hakone. | Great Buddha in Kamakura. For 20 ¥ you can go inside. Must be the cheapest admission in all of Japan! |
Kyoto has more gorgeous temples and gardens than you can count. | Himeiji castle near Osaka. It is still original. You can climb all the way to the top. |
A gate in Nikko -- a quick day trip from Tokyo. Everything is very easily reachable by train. | Kirin Plaza, Osaka (KPO). Designed by Shin Takamatsu. Of course I had a Kirin there. Located in Dotombori, Osaka's amusement district. |
